Almost two months ago I entered a picture into the Hilton's "Naples is ..." Contest. Little did I know I would win the Grand Prize of a VIP Weekend Getaway! I am so grateful for my family, friends, and even strangers that supported me and helped me win. I want to share some highlights from the fabulous weekend I was able to enjoy with my husband.
I found out on Friday, Sept 6th that I received the most likes and won the contest. That was an intense two weeks! I've always supported my friends whenever I saw their posts, but now I have a new respect for anyone in a contest. It is nerve wrecking being on the contestant side... constantly checking on the total votes and having to rally when the numbers get close.
Here's a photo of the loot!

Our night started with champagne and chocolate and ended with meeting some pretty awesome people. Just to set the stage I have to tell you that I enjoy football, but I never kept up with teams and players and all that jazz. I didn't realize just how cool it was to meet some of the former Dolphins at the Hilton's 1972 "Perfect Season" Event. They still hold the record (17-0) and that's pretty impressive and respectable no matter who your favorite team happens to be.
The next day began with complimentary continental breakfast and a shuttle ride to Clam Pass Beach. It's one of my favorites with white powder sand and a 3 minute ride on the scenic boardwalk. The Tommy Bahama chairs (provided by the Hilton) were perfect for lounging. They were easy to carry and had a cooler pouch for drinks.

After the beach we headed back to the Hilton to wash up and take a little siesta. Something about the beach wears me out! Or it could have been the serenity bed and feather pillows calling my name.
Now for the really fun part- Fine Dining! This was my first time at Shula's and I enjoyed every second of it. Since it was my first time, the hostess sat us down and placed the Shula's football on the table which featured their signature cuts and Coach Shula's autograph. Soon after that, our server came by with a display and explanation of each cut. I have never seen anything like it, and I have to say I'm glad they brought it out. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us make the perfect selection according to our preferences. And to those of you that have been to Shula's, no, my husband and I did not join the 48oz Club - we were trying to save room for dessert!

Sunday came way too fast but we made the most of it with a later check out time. I helped myself to some fresh fruit and a bagel with extra cream cheese for breakfast. For the record, I had every intention to check out the gym but unfortunately forgot to pack my tennis shoes, or maybe my mind was on vacation mode and skipped right over the shoes... We did make sure to hang out by the pool to soak up a little more Vitamin D before our vacation came to an end.
My husband and I had such a pleasant time at the Hilton in Naples, with all the amenities and the professional and friendly staff. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway.
